About this product
A soft silicone bulb that moves air rather than liquid, plus two small microfibre towels sized for an ear rather than a face. The point of the bulb is that it dries the outer ear without anything being inserted: you squeeze it near the ear, not into it, and let moving air do the work a cotton bud would otherwise be pushed in to do.
The bulb is one-piece silicone with no valve and no removable tip, so there is nothing to lose and nothing to harbour damp. The towels are 12 in square, ribbed on one face and flat on the other, and they machine wash. Non-electronic throughout.

An everyday outer-ear routine
Most people reach for a cotton bud after a shower. This is the alternative, and it works better precisely because nothing goes in.

Tilt your head first
Tip your head so the ear faces the floor and let gravity move most of the water out before you do anything else. This does more than the bulb will.

Squeeze near the ear, never into it
Hold the bulb an inch or so from the opening, squeeze gently, and let the airflow pass across it. The tip does not enter the ear.

Towel the outer fold
Dry the visible folds with the ribbed face of the towel, then the flat face. Do not wrap a corner and push it inward.

Dry the bulb fully before storing
Squeeze it out, rinse, and leave it open to air. A silicone bulb stored damp is the one part of this set that can go wrong.
Please keep in mind
- Never insert the bulb tip into the ear canal.
- Do not use on an ear that is painful, draining, or has had recent surgery or tubes fitted.
- This set moves air only. Do not use it to introduce any liquid into an ear.
Simple questions, answered
- Does the bulb go in my ear?
- No. You hold it near the opening and let air pass across the outer ear. Nothing is inserted.
- Can I use it to flush water into my ear?
- No. It is an air bulb and it should never be used to introduce liquid into an ear.
- Is this better than a cotton bud?
- It is a different thing entirely, and that is the point: it dries the outer ear without anything being pushed into the canal.
- How do I stop the bulb smelling?
- Dry it properly. Squeeze it out, rinse it, and leave it open to air rather than putting it straight into a drawer.
